I recently found the blog of Chris Elywn. The laments this guy was having about drawing, and the whole 10,000 drawing dealio statement...This is a guy I want to be in contact with I think.
Also, he has a link to a really cool site called Ctrl+Paint that is chock full of free tutorials for digital painting. Part of the reason I'm posting here is just so that I'll recall it!
In other news I am now living in Thailand, and I have actually been doing some animation! It's been extremely small, and corners have been cut due to such incredibly short deadlines, but animation is animation!

Inktober!
While this isn't exactly a huge update, Inktober has come upon us again! You can check out all the Inktober sketches over at my sketch-blog.
What is Inktober? I'll quote Jake Parker on this :
" It’s a month long appreciation of the art of drawing in ink and the practitioners that embrace that art. To celebrate I’m posting one ink drawing a day for the entire month. No pencils, no water colors, no photoshop, just the unadulterated black and white beauty of thick black ink on crisp white paper. Drawing with ink means commitment. There’s no hemming and hawing as to which pencil line you’re going to use, no sitting on the fence of values, no pussy footing with color. When you make your mark you better mean it. It’s black and white. True or false. On or off. And that’s what Inktober is all about. "
I also have my friend Jesse Nelson celebrating ink as well! Get to it!

Fort Wayne Addy Awards!
What Remains won an Addy! Our school submitted it to the festival for us, and it evidently brought home a prize! I will be putting THAT on the resume!

Animation Showcase!
Tonight was Huntington University's Animation Showcase, where all of the work done throughout the year is shown. It was also the world premiere of What Remains! It was super well received and our team took first place for senior film. Hopefully we can fare that well at festivals!
